Ryan Rase is the Town of Mooresville’s Assistant Town Manager and has worked for the Town since 2008. He currently oversees Public Services & Utilities for more than 55,000 citizens and is responsible for an annual budget of more than $48 million. Rase is also a registered professional engineer in North Carolina.
Rase began his career with the Town in 2008 as the Engineering Director. He eventually became the Public Services Director, followed by his current position as the Assistant Town Manager. Rase has helped reduce utility rates while increasing the utility fund balance. He has also helped maintain the tax rate for the past 15 years while increasing the level of service to all of its citizens. He and his staff have managed a variety of complex capital improvement projects (such as the Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion and recent Police Department Headquarters construction). Finally, he takes pride in assisting in the implementation of the Town’s Vision of having a proud workforce that empowers, encourages, and strengthens its employees. Additionally, Rase served as the Acting Town Manager from March-September 2019.
Rase has a strong government background that dates back to 1997 when he began working for the Allen County (Ohio) Sanitary Engineering Department. In late 2002, he moved to the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida area, and held a variety of management roles for the Hillsborough County Water Department, Hernando County Utilities, and Sierra Properties & Ascot Development.
Rase is an Ohio native and currently lives in the Mooresville area with his wife and three children. He received his bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Toledo and his master’s in business administration from The University of Findlay.
