Dr. Mesbah Uddin, PhD
Dr. Mesbah Uddin is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He has a long track record of providing leadership to multi-disciplinary activities within the campus. Dr. Uddin is currently serving as the Campus Coordinator of Charlotte’s Digital Design Optimization (DDO) initiative which is a public-private partnership intended to strengthen Charlotte'’s connections to North Carolina defense and security-related companies interested in multidisciplinary advanced manufacturing, engineering design and optimization, computer science and cybersecurity, and manufacturing innovation. During the period January 2012 to June 2022, he served as the Director of the North Carolina Motorsports and Automotive Research Center. Dr. Uddin is currently serving as the Chair of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Road Vehicle Aerodynamics Forum Committee; this committee is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE standards, technical papers, and special publications related to road vehicle aerodynamics and wind noise performance and test techniques. Additionally, he is an active member of the AIAA Turbulence Model Benchmarking Working Group. Dr. Uddin is a member of UNC Charlotte Military Affairs Committee. In the past, he served as a member of the North Carolina Governor’s Motorsports Advisory Council.
