John Stenbit is the deputy chairman on the advisory board for the Global Positioning System. He is the former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence and its successor organization, Networks and Information Integration, and the former Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer. Stenbit earned his MS and BS in electrical engineering from California Institute of Technology. He has been awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for both Outstanding and Exceptional Public Service.
